Secure Remote Access Services (RAS)

Have a Question?

Let's Talk

Secure Remote Access Services (RAS) enable employees to securely connect to a company’s network and resources from any location, using various end user devices. By implementing robust authentication, encryption, and access control protocols, RAS ensures that remote users can access critical systems without compromising security. These services are essential for businesses with a distributed workforce, as they offer seamless, reliable connectivity while safeguarding sensitive data from cyber threats. With RAS, organisations can maintain productivity and security, regardless of where their employees are working.

Enabling remote and mobile work forces saw a dramatic rise in importance during 2020 because of the restrictions on human movement during the COVID-19 pandemic. Once considered as a luxury to increase productivity and reduce costs associated with real-estate, Secure Remote Access Services (RAS) services have since become a necessity to keep organisations operating productively.

Cybernetica were at the heart of keeping one of the largest UK government’s departments RAS service operating during COVID-19. In addition they successfully increased capacity from a total of 15,000 to 130,000 users to cater for substantial growth in remote user end user devices to support the department’s reactive actions to the crisis. The original on-premise RAS service was optimised to maximise available system resources whilst, in parallel, a secondary service was deployed within AWS; both of which considerably increased the capacity and resiliency of the overall RAS service for UK key workers.

Our RAS expertise includes technology from multiple enterprise vendors including Check Point, Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet and Juniper. All of these have been successfully implemented in various deployments including on-premise physical appliances, virtualised physical appliances, VMware virtual machines, AWS, Azure and SASE.

Who We've Done It For

Enabling Safe Connectivity for Remote Workers

Secure Remote Access Services (RAS) allow employees to connect to their organisation’s internal network and applications from any location, using any device, while ensuring security. These services typically use VPNs, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and encryption to protect data and verify users. RAS ensures remote workers have the same secure access to business resources as those working in the office, supporting flexible and mobile working arrangements.

Remote Connectivity

Provides secure access to internal networks from any location or device.

Security Features

Supporting Distributed Workforces with Robust Security

As the workforce becomes more distributed, businesses must secure remote access to sensitive data and applications. RAS provides businesses with the tools to implement secure access controls, preventing unauthorised access and cyber threats. By securing communications between remote workers and company systems, RAS helps organisations protect their data, maintain compliance with regulations, and minimise the risk of cyberattacks.
